S’mores are definitely one of my all-time favorite snack foods, and this weird Progressive International Microwavable S’Mores Maker claims to make two perfect s’mores in 30 seconds flat because the tiny “arms” keep the marshmallows from expanding too much. I still think you need a fire to make perfect s’mores, not some gadget that looks like a melted Mr. Potato Head—but if you insist on throwing your money away, the PIMSM can be had for $6.95. Everyone, it seems, has the iPhone 3G on the brain this day, but what are people really thinking, deep within the oblongata?

We wanted to find out so we decided to use the power of the World wide web to create some interesting Word Tag Clouds using Jonathan Feinberg’s Wordle program, one of the ideal and most colorful tag apps out there.

Worldle is a program that automatically generates “word clouds” from any text that you provide. The ‘clouds’ that are reproduced give prominence to single words that are repeated more often in the text. The program is especially interesting because you can change it with different colors and orientations, depending on your aesthetic preference.

We added text from all the over the net and the airwaves, and for one group of people in particular (the Executives), we placed the most likely words expected to pop out of their collective head, if they were really honest. We even put the Lab to the test in another one — it turns out we were more single-minded than we thought.

Let’s take a look at the power of the community brain, shall we?

Spain’s Movistar has at last posted its somewhat confusing iPhone prices. The handsets begin at €0 for the 8GB iPhone on the €60 ($94) per month plan, but on top of that €60 you have to pay another €25 ($39) for the data, which is a fairly decent 1GB per month.

If you select to pay a tiny more for the phone, you can have a cheaper monthly rate. If you pay €360 for thew 16GB handset, you can get away with a tiny €9 ($14) voice plan, plus another €15 ($24) for the data (which at this end is just 200MB), coming in at a total of €24 ($38). Curiously, you can’t combine the large data plan with the small voice plan, which, as I speak such terrible Spanish that I never actually call anyone, would be perfect for me.

Another welcome departure from the norm is what happens when you hit your data limit. Instead of geting hit with extra charges, Movistar will just drop your data rate from 128 Kbps to 64 Kbps. As with most other country carriers, the plans give you fee access to Wi-Fi hotspots, in this case Telefonica. I’m actually quite relieved, considering how bad the other European rates are. Of course, this probably has something to do with the slap on the wrist the Spanish telcos recently received from the government for alleged price fixing. See you all at the store in the morning! I’ll be the one with camera and a hangover.

Zing Laser Brings Laser Cutting Goodness to the Average Guy [Laser Engraving]

Fans of laser engraving can now prettify all their stuff with Epilog Laser’s new Zing Laser, a machine that’s roughly about the size of a bulky office scanner. The Zing Laser, one of the first fully functional low-cost laser etchers on the market, has 25 watts of slicing power and can engrave designs into wood, acrylic, plastic, leather, cork, glass, treated metals and more.

When hooked up to a PC, the Zing is recognized as a printer. Put whatever you want to etch on a 16 by 12 inch engraving area and then use Corel Draw to calibrate where the design will go before starting the cutting process. Get to customizing every Mac thing you own for $7,995.

Here’s a video of an iPhone getting carved and the laser slicing through wood.
