Late%20X1%20GI.jpgWhile this weekend we reported on a rumor that Sony Ericsson’s upcoming Xperia X1 was delayed until late 2009, it turns out that isn’t the case. Sony came out and confirmed that they’re still on for a late 2008 release. Now you can sleep easier, I’m sure. You’re welcome. [Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog via Mobility Today]

In this week’s Gadget Lab Podcast, Dylan Tweney, Daniel Dumas, and Jose Fermoso discuss some of the latest concept gadgets, like the flexible, self-cleaning, beer-opening phone of the future from Nokia, and the skin tattoo phone that is supposed to use your blood to power up. Maybe these phones will never become real products, but they’re strange enough to liven up a conversation.

In addition, they will go over Everex’s Cloudbook Notebook computer and the Chumby gadget that developers and Linux lovers in particular have been raving about. Finally, they will talk about the latest, and somewhat surprising, battle for the shelf space on your desk: attractive mini computers that are being used as an extra storage option and entertainment center substitute, including the gPC Mini and the Mac Mini.

PQIwaterproof.jpgPQI’s new Intelligent Stick USB flash drives may be a boon for those clumsy people, like myself, who often spill coffee on their electronics or get them soaking wet in pockets that let the rain in. I can’t think of a time when I’ve got a gadget too dusty to use, but these tiny flash drives can even cope with that. Manufactured with a special COB process, they’re available in 2GB and 4GB in a number of colors, and are due to be unveiled at CeBIT this week.

Inflater6 You want a real office but all The Man will give you is some half-height cubicle walls? Why not create your own privacy with one of the groovy blow-up structures from U.K. specialist Inflate. Options range from full-fledged huts to an “office in a bag” horseshoe just large enough to insulate your desk in sweet, productivity-boosting privacy.

Pricing is a mystery, and one can only assume a deliberate one, given the Flash- and PDF-encumbered design of the Inflate site.
